FOR SITE OWNERS
Importing recipes
If you are reading this, you probably saw our user agent in your server logs. Here is what it does and how to stop it.
What it is
When someone saves a recipe link in AnnaChef, our server fetches that one page on their behalf, once, and turns it into a private recipe for that person. It is not a crawler: it never follows links on its own, and it only fetches a page a person has asked for. It identifies itself as:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AnnaChef/1.2; +https://annachef.com/import)
What we keep
- The recipe text stays private to the person who saved it.
- The page's photo is copied, with credit to the site.
- The extracted recipe is cached for up to 48 hours so the same page is not fetched twice.
- Imported recipes are never published in AnnaChef's public catalogue. If the person shares one by link, the shared page shows the ingredients and sends readers to the original page for the method.
For site owners
If you would rather we did not fetch your pages, email annachefapp@gmail.com with your domain and we will exclude it. Rights holders can ask for a copy to be removed at the same address.
